Quixoticism

supply and demand

the only thing I remember from high school econ class

rarity inflates value

you know my birth stone

amethyst

was once highly coveted

sought after

until one day they found caves full of it in south america

mauve majesty turned to spoiled plum in an instant

whats the next big tumble

three years ago I always said

its people, its connection, its the human touch

that’s our last great commodity

but now

living in a world full up with slurs for robots and microtransations

im not so sure

everybody is selling themselves

be it perspective or pleasure or lechery

to the point of complete saturation

pre-frontal annihilation for the masses

force feeding each other content 24/7

we’re doing a full ouroboros guys

my solution as an aquarian

strive to achieve the quixotic

im a knight riding into battle

threatening singularity

armed with nothing but the impracticality of dual daggers

loving them for the sex appeal

glory granted to me only at the defeat of my own ambition

a marvelous beast that is

my goal to become completely cumbersome in service to my kings

he is idealistic

he is rash

he is romantic

he is utopian

he is foolish

he welcomes consequence

he dreams of princes and knights and poets and drink

he is me

or I shall become him

only then will I become rare enough

worthy enough

of the holy promenade quest

of being paraded

down wall street
